The Mission of the GSGA 

To promote and preserve the traditions and integrity of golf in Georgia and to enhance its enjoyment.

In addition to individual member benefits, GSGA provides a variety of services to its Member Clubs

that enhance the enjoyment of the game for all golfers in Georgia.

Handicapping Services

The GSGA is proud to support the Golf Handicap Index Network System (GHIN). Currently there are more than 340 GSGA Member Clubs with over 65,000 individuals utilizing the GHIN System.

Tournament Management Program

The USGA Tournament Management Program, which is supported by the GSGA, offers Clubs an excellent computer-based system to manage competitions.

Course Measuring/Rating Program

GSGA conducts educational seminars and can provide speakers on golf-related topics, including handicapping, course rating and the Rules of Golf. GSGA staff members are available to answer questions or provide support to Member Clubs in any area related to golf, including rules, handicapping and assistance in professionally conducting tournaments and championships.

Tournament Clearinghouse

GSGA serves as a clearinghouse for all golf events in Georgia. (The GSGA does not act as an arbitrator.)

GSGA DealFinder

As a service to our Member Clubs, GSGA provides a free online forum to post special offers, events or discounts to the general public.

Scoreboard Printing Services

GSGA can provide professional quality scoreboards for a variety of club events, ranging from stroke play, match play interclub and Ryder Cup-style format.

Golf Industry Support

GSGA works closely with the Georgia Section PGA, Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association, Georgia Chapter, Club Managers Association of America and Georgia Golf Course Owners Association to ensure that golfers in Georgia continue to enjoy the very best of what the game offers. GSGA supports the Georgia Turfgrass Foundation Trust with contributions to turfgrass research and contributions to the support of programs and services of the Georgia Section PGA. 

GSGA Foundation

The charitable arm of the GSGA, the GSGA Foundation provides educational opportunities that indirectly benefit Member Clubs and the golfing public.

  • Yates Scholarship Program - provides college funding to deserving GSGA Member Clubs employees and their dependents.
  • Moncrief Scholarship Program - provides college funding to outstanding turfgrass students in Georgia.

Join GSGA

Georgia State Golf Association is the official golf association of the state of Georgia, and its membership is open to men, women, juniors, seniors, and golf clubs throughout the state. Golfers who join GSGA have access to invaluable resources and competitions that allow them to advance their knowledge and improve their golfing skills. Joining GSGA means joining an association of more than 350 clubs and 75,000 people who all have one thing in common: a love of golf.
